Day 3 of Changes

Wait, what? Where are days 1 and 2? And what changes?

I've had enough and decided I need to make some real changes in my life. I want to be healthier and more active and whatnot so...

Day 1 of change involved salad. I like salads, but I don't eat enough of them. Apparently, my husband thought we should eat more of them as well because he also bought salad stuff on the very same day. (It's funny how in-sync we are with each other sometimes, despite not having a discussion about it at all.) So, lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes were bought. The tomatoes are grown by this company: Vermont Hydroponic - Big, Beautiful tomatoes and oh, so yummy! Hooray for local!! :)
Day 2 - I got a hair cut. Really it was more of a trim than a cut. But afterwards, I decided it was time for a change in hair color!
Now, these photos don't actually show the true hair color. I don't know what the problem was but I could not get the real color to show through.

This is what the box looked like:
And it really came out like a light-ish brunette/dark blonde color. Whatever, I like it and it accomplished something.

But, Alice, coloring your hair isn't a change to make you healthier. No, but it makes me feel prettier and feeling good is a healthy thing!

Day 3 - TODAY! Today I continue eating better and tonight I am going to a jewelry class! My friend K.L.S. makes and sells beautiful beaded jewelry and occasionally she gets some people together and shows them how to make certain items.

Tonight we'll be making up-cycled soda can earrings:

A necklace from these fun jade beads:

And a necklace with matching earrings from sea glass and a charm of our choice:
(Of the all the items we make tonight, I think this will be my absolute favorite!)

Movie Review-ish, Going the Distance

I love movies! I am an admitted movie-aholic.

Going the Distance certainly has made it into my top favorite movies. I loved, loved, loved it!

Drew Barrymore and Justin Long have a great dynamic. The movie itself was clever and funny. It was not a stupid, groan-funny - it was a laugh out loud, HA HA FUNNY, want to watch again!

More of my top movies include (in no particular order)

There certainly are so many more, but this was just a short list to show you what I like. You may or may not agree with me. I like to be entertained and not feel like crying and staying in bed for a week after watching a movie.

Do you have any favorites that you think everyone else in the world should also favorite?

Etsy Banners

I have been having some fun making etsy banners! Once I learned how easy they can be to make and edit, I was on a roll!

I have been using picnik.com. This is a partially free, online photo editor.

First, I created a template using "paint" on my computer. (Windows XP)
-open paint
-click on Image and then Attributes
-make the units: pixels
-set the width to 760 and the height to 100
-click OK
-Save As a .png file
-Option: Use the paint can to fill the space with color and Save As, again

Second, I uploaded the saved templates to picnik.com. You do not have to set up an account, but they do have 'Premier' options, so you won't be able to use all the items without paying for a subscription. You can find other Free Etsy Banners here: http://www.everythingetsy.com/free-etsy-banners/ and they also provide a tutorial on another editing site.
-note: if you add a frame to your template in picnik.com, you will need to re-size to 760 x 100 pixels in order for it to fit in your etsy shop
-note: when saving your banner from picnik, save as a .png file

Third, Upload to your etsy shop!
-Sign-in to etsy
-Go to "Your Account" >> Info & Appearance
-Scroll down to Shop Banner Image
-Click on Choose File, find your image saved on your computer and click open
-TA DAAAA!!!! You have a banner!

Drew Gilbert And Almost Fearless

I love sharing my friend's creativeness and accomplishments. I love to share the love! :)

Are you familiar with Drew Gilbert and Almost Fearless? Well, you should be. They are these two amazing people that are traveling the world and sharing it with others. And did I mention that they are traveling with their 1-year-old son? Yeah, they are pretty awesome.

Other than being fabulous, I'm sharing with you that Drew Gilbert wrote an ebook entitled "Surviving the Indian Railway". I am excited to download and read it! I love reading his posts on his blog and on facebook, so I'm looking forward to the ebook!
